Ryver Zhua has adapted to her life as a nomadic trader through the galaxy, though her desire for adventure occasionally leads her into sticky situations. Riding high at the end of a lucrative job, Ryver agrees to smuggle top-secret cargo meant to overthrow a planetary dictator, but the crew of the Avalon got more than they bargained for with their new cargo.

 

An attack from pirates unveils that the "cargo" is actually an abducted sul-ya--a species known for their magical abilities. After a daring escape from pirates, Ryver must make the decision to shelter Natania from the politicians seeking to utilize her powers, or turn her over to the Corrah Parliament, one of the most powerful collectives in the galaxy, to avoid being imprisoned for Natania's abduction.

 

A chance meeting with other Sul-yas may choose Ryver's path for her, and may lead her into the middle of a war between the Corrah Parliament and the ever-growing Laurentus Empire fighting for control of the galaxy.
